Frequently asked questions
How do I upload my favorite moments to the Reminix?
It's a simple 3-step process. First, export your favorite clips in a square format using any video editor. Second, connect your REMINIX to your computer using the provided USB-C cable while the orb is off. Finally, turn the orb on—it will appear as a drive on your computer—and simply drag and drop your files directly onto the device.
Does The Reminix play sound?
Yes. Unlike static photo gifts, REMINIX features a built-in Hi-Fi speaker. When you move your video files onto the drive, your memories will play back with full, clear audio—allowing you to hear laughter, music, and voices.
Can I change the videos later?
Absolutely. Because REMINIX acts just like an external drive, you can plug it back into your computer at any time to delete old files or add new ones. Your "Living Memory" can grow and change as your life does.
My computer isn't recognizing the drive. What should I do?
Ensure the orb is completely turned off when you first plug it in. Once connected, turn the power on—this triggers the "USB Mode" and allows your computer to see the 4GB drive. If you're on a Mac, make sure your video is exported as a standard .MP4 for the best compatibility.
It arrived perfectly fine, I recommend it, very nice product.
It arrived perfectly, a very nice product.
Ok, after fooling around with this is bit, i got it working.
Step 1: ignore most of the instructions, they're wrong.
Step 2: charge it all the way up before messing with it, else it won't let you start uploading stuff to it
Video: you can use most any software to convert your videos over. 480x480 mp4 is what is needed, though mine does just fine with 720p videos converted by clipchamp (free, windows video editor). You lose some of the the edges, but can go with the lower 480p too. You have to manually change from one video to the next.
Photos: you need to make a folder called 'picture' on the device. In there put some 480x480 96dpi photos. Lower dpi (eg 72, like taken by many cameras) doesn't work. Again, free photo editor will help you out here. I found 400x400 size to look the best. Like video, you have to manually switch, it doesn't cycle on its own.
Now, you can't switch between video and photo. You have to remove any videos, else the photos are ignored.
It's just like the images and the resolution is very good! A great gift :)
The instructions say they provide you with free software, it's a lie. After figuring it out, it seems to be a solid device.
